The GI OR Scheduler – Specialty Care Services at Children's of Alabama coordinates and maintains accurate procedure schedules in the EMR to support safe, efficient, family-centered care. This role serves as a key contact for patients, parents, providers, and clinic staff regarding appointment details and pre-procedure instructions.

Ideal candidates will have strong customer service, excellent communication, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a busy outpatient setting.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred: one year of experience in administrative/healthcare scheduling.
• Experience with EMR scheduling is a plus.
• 1 year staff level experience in administrative/clerical field.

Summary

The GI OR Scheduler – Specialty Care Services is responsible for coordinating and maintaining accurate procedure schedules in the electronic medical record (EMR) to support efficient, safe, and family-centered care. This position serves as a key point of contact for patients, parents, providers, and clinic staff regarding appointment details, pre-procedure instructions, and schedule changes. The GI OR Scheduler demonstrates strong customer service and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced outpatient environment.

The Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition Division at Children's of Alabama provides comprehensive multidisciplinary evaluation and management of pediatric gastrointestinal, liver and nutritional problems. These may include conditions such as liver disease, feeding disorders, eosinophilic esophagitis, functional GI disorders, intestinal rehabilitation, and inflammatory bowel disease. Academic Fellows, Residents and Certified Registered Nurse Practitioners also provide world‑class, disease‑specific care in this area under the supervision of the attending MD. Multidisciplinary patient‑centered care is the focus of the Division. Close interaction with Pediatric Surgery, Radiology, Pathology, Anesthesiology and Nutrition services provide ample opportunity for optimizing patient care. Location: Children's of Alabama (2nd Floor, McWane Building)

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Day Shift, Monday-Friday Standard Days
