Qualifications

• Baccalaureate nursing degree or higher; outpatient experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for outpatient pediatric GI patients and families.
• Provide multidisciplinary, family-centered care in a specialty clinic setting.

The Specialty Care Services Specialty Clinic Nurse is a professional nurse who assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for patients and families in an outpatient specialty care clinic setting.

The Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition Division at Children's of Alabama provides comprehensive multidisciplinary evaluation and management of pediatric gastrointestinal, liver and nutritional problems. These may include conditions such as liver disease, feeding disorders, eosinophilic esophagitis, functional GI disorders, intestinal rehabilitation, and inflammatory bowel disease. Academic Fellows, Residents and Certified Registered Nurse Practitioners also provide world‑class, disease‑specific care in this area under the supervision of the attending MD. Multidisciplinary patient‑centered care is the focus of the Division. Close interaction with Pediatric Surgery, Radiology, Pathology, Anesthesiology and Nutrition services provide ample opportunity for optimizing patient care. Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Day Shift, Monday-Friday Standard Days
