Job description

At Jered, a PAR Systems Company and leader in engineered solutions for naval and maritime systems, our Scheduling team plays a critical role in ensuring manufacturing projects remain aligned from initial planning through final production. We are looking for a detail-oriented Scheduler who brings strong analytical skills, manufacturing planning expertise, and the ability to coordinate across multiple departments to support successful project execution.

In this role, you'll serve as a critical link between Program Management, Procurement, and Manufacturing by developing comprehensive project schedules, managing work orders within Jobscope, and ensuring material availability aligns with production capacity. You'll collaborate with Program Managers, Production Controllers, and Buyers to forecast manpower requirements, identify scheduling constraints, and support customer delivery commitments.

Success Criteria:

As a Scheduler, you'll spend most of your time developing and maintaining project schedules, managing work orders, forecasting manpower requirements, and coordinating material availability with manufacturing capacity. You'll participate in project initiation meetings to validate promise dates, develop front-end project schedules, and identify work center loading concerns that could impact production.

You’ll work closely with Program Management to communicate schedule variances, identify potential risks, and develop mitigation strategies. You'll also coordinate with Production Controllers and Production Processing to validate work order operation times, ensure work orders and vendor demands are properly linked within Jobscope, and maintain accurate project schedules based on priorities established by the Logistics Manager and Master Scheduler.

Success in this role means consistently supporting on-time delivery through accurate scheduling, proactive constraint management, and effective resource planning. You’ll ensure project schedules account for material procurement, manufacturing queue times, and shipping while maintaining accurate manpower forecasts and work center loading. You’ll also monitor material availability using the Exceptions report and Project Labor Analyze report, communicate changes affecting vendor demands, and apply lessons learned to improve future scheduling accuracy.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or 5+ years of experience in production scheduling
  • Demonstrated experience in production scheduling, manufacturing planning, or materials control within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems for managing work orders, vendor demands, and production tracking
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, capacity planning, and material lead times
  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively between Procurement, Production, and Program Management teams
  • Expertise in Microsoft Project and Microsoft 365
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to proactively identify scheduling constraints and material shortages
  • Ability to work in both office and active manufacturing environments while following established safety procedures and PPE requirements
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods during observations, tours, and training activities
  • Ability to travel occasionally between supported locations
Preferred Qualifications:
  • PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP)
  • AACE Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP)
  • AACE Certified Scheduling Technician (CST)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • DCMA 14-Point Schedule Assessment

You’ve learned about what you'll be doing, here are the benefits you'll gain when you join our team:

  • First-of-a-kind product culture and project exposure
  • Training and development from industry-leading experts
  • Cutting edge benefit programs that include: 401(k) & matching; Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance; Disability & Life Insurance; PTO, Paid Holidays, & Parental Leave for both Parents; Tuition Reimbursement
