Job summary

MIRATECH Corporation is seeking a Junior Production Scheduler in Houston, TX to support development and maintenance of production schedules aligning customer demand with material, labor, and priorities.

The role requires 1–2 years in production control or scheduling, basic understanding of manufacturing processes, and strong organizational skills. You will collaborate with Production, Purchasing, and Inventory teams to ensure on-time delivery and continuous improvement in scheduling processes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in business, supply chain, manufacturing, or related field preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience in production control, scheduling, manufacturing, inventory, or order management preferred.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, work orders, bills of material, routings, lead times, and capacity.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Experience with ERP or MRP systems for work orders and scheduling is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with creating and maintaining daily and weekly production schedules based on demand, capacity, materials, and delivery requirements.
• Review open work orders, backlog, due dates, routings, and status to confirm priorities and identify conflicts.
• Coordinate with supervisors to confirm labor/equipment capacity and adjust priorities as conditions change.
• Verify material availability with Purchasing and Inventory Control; communicate shortages or constraints.
• Track work order progress and follow up on delays, bottlenecks, or quality holds.
• Communicate schedule changes and revised dates to internal stakeholders.

Primary Responsibility

Support the development, maintenance, and communication of production schedules that align customer demand, material availability, labor capacity, and manufacturing priorities. The Junior Production Scheduler monitors work order progress, identifies schedule risks, coordinates updates across departments, and helps improve on-time completion and delivery performance.

What You'll Do

• Assist with creating and maintaining daily and weekly production schedules based on customer demand, available capacity, material readiness, and delivery requirements.
• Review open work orders, backlog, due dates, routings, and production status to confirm priorities and identify potential schedule conflicts.
• Coordinate with Production supervisors and team leads to confirm labor and equipment capacity, sequence work, and adjust priorities as operating conditions change.
• Partner with Purchasing and Inventory Control to verify material availability and communicate shortages or constraints that may affect the schedule.
• Track work order progress through each production stage and follow up on delays, bottlenecks, quality holds, or missing information.
• Communicate schedule changes, priority shifts, completion risks, and revised dates to appropriate internal stakeholders in a timely manner.
• Support daily production meetings by preparing schedule updates, highlighting constraints, and documenting required follow-up actions.
• Maintain production planning reports, schedule boards, backlog lists, and other tools used to track output and delivery performance.
• Assist with analyzing schedule adherence, work order aging, past-due orders, lead times, and production performance trends.
• Escalate material, capacity, quality, or workflow issues that could prevent production from meeting committed dates.
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives related to production planning, schedule accuracy, workflow visibility, and on-time delivery.

How to Qualify

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in business, supply chain, manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
• One to two years of experience in production control, scheduling, manufacturing, inventory, order management, or a related operational role preferred.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, work orders, bills of material, routings, lead times, and production capacity.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, dates, and follow-up items.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coordinate clearly across departments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Experience using ERP or MRP systems for work orders, production planning, inventory, or scheduling preferred.
• Analytical and problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and willingness to learn production planning processes.
