Job summary

Sentry is seeking a Scanning and Distribution Technician for the Stevens Point, WI office. You will support the Enterprise Scanning and Mail Services by sorting, prepping, scanning, and distributing mail across business units, and handling related administrative duties.

The role involves operating mailroom equipment, driving to pick up mail, maintaining vehicles, and ensuring quantity accuracy and secure handling of mail. A High School Diploma and a valid driver’s license are required.

Responsibilities

• Sort and prep incoming mail and preps outgoing mail/packages; operate scanning, opening, and copy equipment.
• File, maintain, store, retrieve and destroy hard copy mail per procedures.
• Use company vehicles to pickup incoming mail and distribute between buildings; maintain vans (gas, cleaning, repairs).
• Unpack received orders, verify quantities, identify damaged shipments; prepare outgoing packages and select shipping method.

Job description

We are looking to add a Scanning and Distribution Tech to our Stevens Point, WI office team!

Our Scanning and Distribution Tech provides support to the Enterprise Scanning and Mail Services organization by performing routine activities related to the distribution of incoming and outgoing mail for various business units; sorts and preps incoming mail, preps outgoing mail/packages, operates various data imaging and mailroom equipment and performs miscellaneous administrative duties.

This role will report to our Stevens Point, WI Dixon office. Hours will be from 6:15am-2:45pm.

What You'll Do

The Scanning & Distribution Technician operates equipment including an opener, photocopier, scanner, and various other machines. Additionally, you will:

• Performs various activities as they relate to the preparation, verification, sorting, scanning and distribution of mail; this includes processes surrounding the handling of unidentified mail and items which are classified as not conducive to scanning.
• Responsible for the filing, maintenance, storage, retrieval and destruction of hard copy mail in accordance with established procedures.
• Using company vehicles pick up incoming mail from Post Office and handles mail handling/distribution between Sentry buildings and other points in the area. Responsible for maintenance of vans, including gas supply, arranging for interior/exterior cleaning and repairs.
• Unpacks received orders; verify quantities and identifies damaged/incorrect shipments. Prepares and processes all outgoing packages for shipment and determines the most feasible method of shipment to assure the safest and most economic delivery.

What it Takes

• High School Diploma or equivalent work experience.
• Ability to accurately and efficiently enter and verify data on a PC.
• Previous data entry experience beneficial.
• Ability to understand postal scales and rates desired.
• Mechanical skills to aid in the identification and resolution of equipment issues.
• Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and great interpersonal skills desired.
• Ability to push/pull carts weighing between 10 - 300 lbs.
• Lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
• Valid driver's license required.
