Job Duties

• Operate truck scales, record gross, tare, and net weights, and verify compliance with legal weight limits
• Process customer orders, record tonnage, and issue weight tickets, invoices, and receipts
• Direct truck traffic and coordinate loading with loader operators and dispatch by two-way radio
• Answer calls, greet visitors, and respond to customer questions about material availability
• Collect cash and check payments and balance the daily cash drawer
• Maintain inventory, customer account, and transaction records and prepare material reports
• Enforce quarry safety rules and driver PPE requirements and visually inspect incoming loads for compliance
• Assist with safety documentation, including MSHA quarterly and incident reports
• Keep the scalehouse, customer entryways, and surrounding areas clean
• Follow all policies and procedures in place
• Completes any other related tasks as needed

Qualifications and Desired Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1+ years of experience in a scalehouse, weigh station, logistics, administrative support, or retail customer service preferred
• Basic computer proficiency, strong math skills, and ability to learn ticketing and billing software
• Strong attention to detail, communication, and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work in a small quarry entrance office with frequent exposure to noise, dust, mud, and changing weather
• Ability to stand occasionally, walk on uneven terrain, and lift up to 25 lbs
