Job summary

Paylocity is seeking a detail‑oriented Scale Operator at our Horn Lake, MS facility. You will operate weigh scales, manage scale software, and perform clerical tasks including data entry and billing support for incoming loads.

The role requires accuracy, the ability to multitask, and strong communication with drivers and internal teams. Prior scale house experience is desirable; bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three years working in clerical position with computer literacy involving Microsoft Office tools as well as other accounting software.
• Two years of data entry experience in fast paced operations environment.
• Previous weight scale house operations experience highly desired.
• Must pass a background investigation and have authorization to work in the United States.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to plan, schedule and organize assigned work.
• Spanish speaking ability a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create Bill of Ladings as requested per plant manager.
• Update BOLs information: actual weight based on scale tickets, pricing, destination and hauler, commodity and hauler.
• Monitor open sales orders report weekly to ensure outbound loads are processed.
• Provide prompt and courteous service to drivers.
• Ensure trucks are properly positioned on scales for accurate weights.
• Inspect loads and query drivers; enter load information and customer/truck information into computer; operate scale to determine weight.
• Enter data into computer software for charges and generate tickets.
• Perform routine data entry and keep legible records.
• File weight tickets and maintain cash receipts.
• Maintain records of all incoming/outgoing loads; verify accuracy with weight certificates.
• Sort and process weight tickets; complete scale/receipt reports and logs.
• Assist in maintaining facility site security and access control.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and equipment.
• Maintain all required records and reports timely.
• Attends work on continuous and regular basis.
