Job summary

Pine Lake Corn Processors is seeking a Scale Operator/Customer Service professional at the Pine Lake Facility in Steamboat Rock, IA. You will handle scale operations, assist customers, and manage related administrative tasks to keep location operations efficient and accurate.

The role requires attention to detail, strong customer service, and ability to work with grain-related data, contracts, and records. This full-time position includes benefits and seasonal flexibility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Post-secondary coursework in agriculture, accounting, business, or admin preferred.
• Experience in customer service, administrative, accounting, scale, grain, or ag office preferred.
• Ability to learn scale, grain accounting, CRM, billing, inventory, and Microsoft Office systems.

Responsibilities

• Report to the workplace at the scheduled time and notify the supervisor of absences or late arrivals.
• Greet customers, producers, vendors, and truck drivers professionally and helpfully.
• Answer calls, provide location hours and grain bid information, route inquiries as needed.
• Operate the scale system accurately for inbound and outbound grain and other location products.
• Identify correct customer, commodity, delivery info, hauler, weights, grades, and account details before issuing tickets.
• Probe, sample, and grade grain per location procedures (moisture, test weight, foreign material).
• Direct truck traffic safely to unloading/loading areas while maintaining a positive experience.
• Enter and review scale tickets, grain tickets, work orders, settlements, invoices, and contracts for accuracy.
• Process daily grain ticket edits, settlements, direct ship transactions, and related docs.
• Support grain contract administration with signatures, scanning, filing, and basic questions.
• Provide general customer service support for account questions, balances, tickets, statements, billing.
• Maintain electronic and paper records, filing, mailing, scanning, contract tracking.
• Assist with inventory processes, including bills of lading, receipts, and product movement.
• Complete billing, receipting, deposits in line with procedures.
• Maintain scale house and customer areas in a clean, organized condition.
• Communicate customer concerns and safety issues promptly to supervisor.
• Follow all safety policies and PPE requirements; support seasonal needs.
