Ecowaste Solutions is seeking a Scale Operator at our Axis, AL landfill. You will weigh inbound and outbound vehicles, process transactions, and provide customers with accurate information for a smooth experience.

This full-time, on-site role offers weekly pay, health plans, an HSA option, retirement match, PTO, and life insurance. You will be a key face at the scale house, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in daily operations.

Qualifications

Ecowaste Solutions is a fast-growing company in a stable, essential industry, and our Scale Operators are the first and last face our customers see at the landfill. In this role, you'll be the hub of activity at the scale house, weighing incoming and outgoing vehicles, processing transactions, and making sure every driver gets accurate information and a smooth experience from start to finish. This is a detail-oriented, customer-facing position where organization, accuracy, and a professional demeanor are everything. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Greet customers and drivers in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner.
• Weigh inbound and outbound vehicles and accurately record load and ticket information in the system.
• Verify customer and load information for accuracy and completeness on every transaction.
• Direct drivers to the correct disposal area clearly and accurately.
• Process customer payments and maintain accurate transaction records.
• Monitor traffic flow through the scale house and keep operations moving efficiently.
• Maintain organized records of all scale tickets, transactions, and daily activity logs.
• Communicate with site staff regarding load types, disposal locations, or any issues on site.
• Ensure the scale house is clean, organized, and properly stocked throughout the shift.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong computer skills with the ability to input and verify data accurately and efficiently.
• Previous customer service or cashiering experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, both in person and by phone.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Self-motivated with solid time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a steady flow of transactions without supervision.
• Experience with scale house or dispatch software a plus but not required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Dedicated landfill site position, primarily stationary work within the scale house.
• Exposure to outdoor elements when directing traffic or assisting on site.
• Must be able to lift, carry, and move up to 25 lbs.
• Full time hours, with additional hours as needed.
