Job summary

Manzana Products Co. is relocating its manufacturing facility to Sunnyside, WA, and seeks a Scale Desk Clerk who will manage daily weighing, tracking, and logging of shipments. This role ensures only authorized entry, coordinates arrivals, and processes shipment paperwork with accuracy.

Responsibilities include weighing trucks, verifying certificates, and distributing documents to Sales, Accounting, and Production while supporting food safety and GMP programs integral to our operations.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Experience with weighing duties in a manufacturing or similar environment preferred.
• ERP and data entry experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Customer service experience.
• Knowledge of weights and measures rules.
• Familiarity with GMP, HACCP, SQF, or FDA food safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Weigh inbound and outbound trucks and direct them to proper destinations.
• Verify incoming certificates and paperwork for shipments.
• Compare labels, manifests, and bills of lading for accuracy.
• Process bulk vinegar/juice shipments and track deliveries.
• Distribute shipment documentation to Sales, Accounting, and Production.

Job Summary

The Scale Desk Clerk is the first point of contact for vendors, carriers and visitors attempting to enter the Manzana facility. They are responsible for day-to-day accurate weighing, tracking and logging incoming and outgoing shipments and trucks. The scale desk clerk is also responsible for ensuring that those allowed entrance to the facility are scheduled; communicating arrivals and departures as necessary with various departments. Other duties include ensuring incoming and outgoing shipment documentation is created and processed timely and accurately.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Manzana Food Products requires all employees to understand a participate in our Food Safety and Food Defense programs; each employee, no matter their position or job function serves a key role in contributing to safe, quality food.
• Weigh incoming and outgoing trucks and direct incoming trucks to proper destination.
• Verify incoming certificates and paperwork.
• Compare product labels, tags, or tickets, shipping manifests, purchase orders, and bills of lading to verify accuracy of shipment contents, quality specifications, or weights.
• Process bulk vinegar/juice shipments.
• Track outgoing shipments and incoming apple deliveries.
• Distribute documentation of incoming/outgoing shipments to Sales, Accounting, and Production departments.
• Participate in any required licensing or certification processes for the scale desk clerk or scale calibration.
• General office support as needed
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Some combination of the following work experience:
  • Experience with weighing duties in a comparable environment preferred
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment, food manufacturing preferred
  • ERP and data entry experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Customer service experience
• Working knowledge of rules of weights and measure authorities
• Working knowledge of ERP processes for Sales Orders, Purchase Orders, Shipping/Receiving and Inventory
• Ability to multitask and prioritize while under pressure in a fast paced environment
• Ability to organize, track and manage a variety of concurrent activities and projects
• Experience supporting large retail customers.
• Familiarity with GMP, HACCP, SQF, or FDA food safety standards.

Skills

• Strong basic math skills with the ability to make frequent accurate math calculations
• Self-directed and able to work independently
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to interface successfully at all levels in a multi-cultural environment
• Knowledge of transportation, warehousing, or supply chain operations.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
