Job summary

Baumann's Recycling Center is seeking a reliable Scale Attendant to weigh inbound/outbound loads, process customer transactions, and maintain precise records in a fast-paced recycling environment. You will handle cash, checks, and cards, assist customers, and communicate with drivers and staff.

The role is on-site daily with a 7:30 AM start, and staff are asked to arrive 15-30 minutes early to prepare. Strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience weighing loads on truck scales.
• Cash handling and basic math accuracy.
• Ability to operate computer systems and POS.
• Excellent customer service and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Weigh inbound and outbound vehicles on truck scales.
• Verify materials delivered or removed from the facility.
• Create and process scale tickets accurately.
• Collect payments by cash, check, and card.
• Balance cash drawer at the end of the shift.
• Maintain accurate records and filing of tickets.
• Answer phones and assist customers with inquiries.
• Communicate with equipment operators, yard staff, and management.
• Ensure all transactions comply with policies.
• Monitor traffic flow at the scale house for safety.
• Assist with general office tasks and filing as needed.
• Report discrepancies or issues to management promptly.
