Job summary

Great Lakes Water Authority is seeking a SCADA Technician-1 to maintain and update the SCADA system, Ovation, PLCs, HMIs, and related IT infrastructure at the Detroit facilities. You will design and implement changes to support operations and projects, work with IT and operations, and troubleshoot faults to ensure uninterrupted operation.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and at least two years of SCADA experience or instrumentation technician background with PLC/logic

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2 years SCADA maintenance or equivalent experience.
  • Instrumentation Technician with PLC and logic programming acceptable.
  • Basic MS SQL and database knowledge required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair 900 MHz radio equipment.
  • Monitor and replace PLC, Ovation, and HMI.
  • Provide LAN/WAN, workstation, and printer support.
  • Load/unload materials manually or with equipment.
  • Perform daily checks and maintenance on systems.
  • Assist in planning and scheduling work orders with team leader.
  • Troubleshoot SCADA alarms and diagnose issues.
  • Replace PLC modules and reload configurations as needed.
  • Provide on-the-job training and safety compliance.
