Job summary

SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking a commissioning specialist to support the network and communications pre-commissioning and commissioning for utility-scale solar power projects.

The role requires onsite presence at job sites with partial remote work, coordinating with engineering, construction and QA teams to ensure devices communicate properly during hot commissioning. Responsibilities include conducting tests, adhering to NFPA/NEC and IEEE/API standards, preparing detailed reports, and helping

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, inverters, transformers, and electrical infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of networking and communications systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
• Ability to interpret Electrical and Mechanical Drawings/Schematics.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and implement site-specific commissioning plans and schedules.
• Coordinate with project teams (engineering, construction, QA, SCADA) to align commissioning activities.
• Conduct pre-commissioning and commissioning tests (performance, functional, reliability) of communications systems.
• Ensure commissioning activities comply with safety, NFPA/NEC, IEEE/IES/API standards and environmental regulations.
• Troubleshoot issues to optimize SCADA and site communications performance.
• Prepare detailed commissioning reports with test results, issues, and corrective actions.
• Assist site commissioning personnel with Safety Tagging, Lockout & Work Permit programs.
