Job summary

Eversource is seeking an entry-level Field Automation Technician to install, commission, troubleshoot and maintain RTUs and SCADA components that manage the electric grid. You will work independently or with a team to support hardware, software and data configurations for field devices and CIP compliance.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.0–3+ years related experience required.
• Familiarity with electrical and electronic components, circuitry and systems.
• Ability to use testing and measurement techniques and instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots, repairs, services equipment and systems.
• Reads and interprets engineering drawings, schematic, wiring, and interconnection diagrams.
• Updates engineering drawings to reflect field changes and CIP requirements.
• Obtains clearance from dispatching for work on critical operating equipment.
• Operates test instruments to test and calibrate equipment.
• Diagnoses and reports communication problems on systems and coordinates with carriers.
• Maintains CIP certification and safety practices.
