Job summary

Duck River Electric Membership Corporation is seeking a technician to install, modify, and maintain SCADA systems across Member Systems, including RTUs, IEDs, and EMS/SCADA components. You will configure communications, test fiber optic links, and manage server/workstation environments while handling network administration duties.

The role requires hands-on experience with computer networking, SCADA, and utility operations, with travel and occasional overtime expected.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Electronic Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Technology related field.
• 1–3 years of prior electronic technology capacity experience or Military technical training.
• Operational understanding of computer technology and networking.
• Previous electric utility experience or RTU/IED/radio comms experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, modify, and maintain SCADA systems including RTUs, IEDs, EMS/SCADA components and related servers/workstations.
• Configure and test communications equipment, fiber optics, and network devices.
• Install, configure, and support LAN/WAN and Internet systems or segments of a network.
• Provide training to Member Systems personnel on SCADA operations and troubleshooting.
• Monitor network availability and perform routine maintenance as needed.
• Possibly drive a service van and operate forklift as required.
• Be available for system outages and occasional overtime.
• Travel may be required.
