Sun Recruiting, Inc. is seeking a SCADA Engineer to support OT equipment and data flows across gas, solar, and wind assets.

The role focuses on reliability of control and data systems, working with site managers and operations teams to meet operational and financial objectives. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree with 3–6 years of experience, mandatory Ignition and AVEA PI expertise, and familiarity with OT equipment and data historians.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 3–6 years of experience or equivalent
• Expert level in Inductive Automation Ignition and AVEA PI is mandatory
• Experience with Renewable and Gas power systems
• Familiarity with OT equipment and SCADA systems (RTUs, PI historians, OPC, Modbus)
• Ignition certification is preferred
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
• Scripting experience, Python preferred
• Knowledge of power plant components and renewable projects
• Strong analytical and multitasking abilities
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain Ignition SCADA System (Gateways, screens, alarms, historian, integration)
• Manage OT SCADA equipment, servers, and configurations and keep systems up to date
• Develop data flows and displays in Ignition Perspective for analytics and visualization
• Troubleshoot and maintain connections between OT equipment (RTUs, RIGs, data loggers)
• Maintain data connections between Remote Operations Center, data servers, OEM SCADA/OPC servers
• Coordinate with IT as primary contact for plant operations
• Provide NERC CIP guidance to ensure asset compliance
• Support SCADA lifecycle refresh and internal AI initiatives
