Job summary

Top Echelon Software, LLC. is seeking a SCADA Engineer to support OT equipment and data flow across gas, solar, and wind assets. You will work with site managers and engineering teams to deliver reliable control and data systems, enabling analytics and operational efficiency.

The role requires strong Ignition and AVEA PI skills, experience with renewable and gas power systems, and the ability to coordinate with IT and operations. A proactive, self-driven approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 3–6 years of experience. Applicable years of experience may substitute for degree.
• Expert level proficiency in Inductive Automation Ignition and AVEA PI is mandatory.
• Experienced with Renewable and Gas power systems.
• Familiarity with OT Equipment such as SCADA systems, RTU’s, PI data historians, SEL-RTAC, DNP, OPC, Modbus protocols, etc.
• Ignition certification is preferred.
• Adept with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experienced with scripting languages, Python preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain Ignition SCADA System, including gateways, screens, alarms, historian and integration.
• Manage OT SCADA equipment, including servers and point configurations; keep systems up to date.
• Develop data flows and displays in Ignition Perspective for advanced analytics and visualization of OT data.
• Troubleshoot and maintain connections between OT equipment (controls, RTU, gateways, data loggers).
• Maintain data connections between OT operations, corporate servers and OEM SCADA/RTU/OPC servers.
• Coordinate with IT as primary contact for plant operations.
• Provide NERC CIP guidance to ensure assets are compliant.
• Support SCADA lifecycle refresh and internal AI initiatives.
