Under close supervision of the SCADA Supervisor, performs routine and progressively more difficult assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities and to provide experience and familiarization with the Engineering methods, practices, and programs of the company. Using prescribed methods, performs portions of broader or more complex assignments as abilities and experience warrant. Applies basic engineering theory and concepts to research, plan and design electric systems. Perform duties to analyze and maintain Huntsville Utilities’ and Redstone Arsenal’s SCADA/ telemetry communication systems and the infrastructure supporting it.
Education/Training/Certifications: Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution is required. Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Engineer Intern (EI) Certification preferred.
Experience/Skills: Two (2) years experience in Fundamental engineering or Utility industry experience with SCADA, design, and mapping systems preferred(Survalent and ESRI systems preferred).
Equipment: Calculator, personal computer (MS Word, Excel, Outlook), GIS, GPS, telephone, vehicle.
Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions: Primarily sedentary office work, some exposure to inclement weather for field checks or emergencies.
Other Considerations: Good written, oral and interpersonal skills. Subject to call out after normal working hours. Current driver’s license.
