Huntsville Utilities in Alabama seeks an Electrical Engineer to join the Engineering staff under close supervision. The role develops professional knowledge, planning electric systems improvements and cost estimates while applying basic engineering theory and methods.

Under close supervision, performs routine and progressively more difficult assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities and to provide experience and familiarization with the Engineering staff, methods, practices and programs of the company. Using prescribed methods, performs portions of broader or more complex assignments as abilities and experience warrant. Applies basic engineering theory and concepts to research, plan and design electric systems improvements.
Education/Training/Certifications: Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution is required . Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Engineer Intern (EI) Certification preferred.
Experience/Skills: Two (2) years experience in Fundamental engineering or Utility industry experience with integrated business, design, and mapping systems preferred (NISC, CAD, ArcGIS and electric modeling systems preferred).
Equipment: Calculator, personal computer (MS Word, Excel, Outlook,), telephone, vehicle.
Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions: Primarily sedentary office work, some exposure to inclement weather for field checks or emergencies.
Other Considerations: Good written, oral and interpersonal skills. Subject to call out after normal working hours. Current driver’s license.
