SCADA Controls Engineer – Travel to Power Plants

Job summary

Responsibilities include upgrades, patch deployment, screen development for real-time data, alarms, reporting, and data validation. The position requires travel and living within reasonable distance of a regional asset, with collaboration across Operations and Networking teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum two (2) years of relevant experience.
• Willingness to travel based on business need.
• Strong time management and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Excellent English communication, both written and spoken.
• Experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience with industrial control systems (Allen Bradley, ABB, Siemens).
• Experience working with industrial control systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage upgrade projects for Industrial Control Systems and deploy patches.
• Configure and manage servers and equipment to ensure NERC/FERC compliance.
• Develop and modify SCADA screens for real-time data, trends, alarms, interfaces and remote control.
• Back up systems and databases; generate reports from databases.
• Develop, maintain and validate data for SCADA operations.
• Coordinate commissioning tests with NSCC personnel on SCADA data points.
• Work with remote assets, NSCC and project managers on major SCADA projects.
• Update points lists in the PI database with Operations/Assets teams.
• Integrate new assets and field devices into the control center.
• Collaborate with networking and operations teams to assimilate new acquisitions.
• Oversee security devices and related servers (cameras, access control, sensors).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
