Job summary

Accentuate Staffing partners with a company in the utility software space to hire an Application Engineer. This role supports customers using software tied to power systems, SCADA, and related utility applications, requiring strong technical problem-solving and clear customer communication.

You will troubleshoot issues, answer product and configuration questions, assist with demos and training, and relay customer needs to internal teams to improve usability and support.

Qualifications

• Experience in an Application Engineer, Technical Support Engineer, SCADA Engineer, Protection Engineer, or similar technical customer-facing role.
• Background in power systems, substations, SCADA, industrial communications, or related utility environments.
• Familiarity with TCP/IP and industrial communication protocols; DNP3 or IEC 61850 experience is a plus.
• Ability to troubleshoot software and technical issues while communicating clearly with customers and internal teams.
• Experience working in Windows and/or Linux environments; scripting experience such as JavaScript is helpful.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Support customers by answering technical questions and helping troubleshoot application, configuration, and usage issues
• Assist with software setup, testing, and follow-up to help ensure successful customer use of the product
• Participate in product demos, training, and technical discussions with customers and teams
• Partner with engineering and other internal groups to communicate customer needs, elevate issues, and support solutions
• Review product functionality and documentation to help improve usability and accuracy
• Manage multiple support items while maintaining strong communication and follow-through
