Job summary

American Momentum Bank is seeking an experienced SBA Credit Analyst in North Carolina to underwrite and analyze lending opportunities across SBA 7a, 504, and Express programs.

The role requires thorough underwriting, strong financial statement analysis, and adherence to SBA SOP and bank policies. You will collaborate with Business Development Officers and the closing team to move loans from submission to approval, ensuring compliance and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or related discipline.
• Formal Bank Commercial Credit training or equivalent classes.
• 5–10 years banking/credit experience with 3 to 4 years of SBA credit analysis experience.
• Strong understanding of SBA SOP eligibility requirements.
• Knowledgeable in Excel and credit analysis software.
• Experience with regulatory policies and banking regulations, state and federal.
• Demonstrated ability in financial statement analysis and cash flow assessment.
• Excellent problem-solving and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs SBA audit quality review and approves loan documentation at underwriting.
• Determines loan eligibility per bank policy and SBA SOP; structures transactions accordingly.
• Communicates with Business Development Officers and internal teams.
• Prepares detailed financial analyses of borrowing entities and guarantors.
• Obtains, reviews, and approves credit reports and other documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Generates a Credit Approval Memorandum reflecting underwriting analysis for SBA/bank standards.
• Assembles credit committee packages for presentation and approval.
• Reviews and approves third-party reports including appraisals and valuations.
• Coordinates with the closing department to finalize loan closings and modifications as needed.
• Assists with annual reviews of existing SBA loans.
• Completes a monthly work log for deal tracking and production monitoring.
• May perform other tasks and assist in projects as needed.
