Job summary

Quill is seeking an experienced SBA Underwriter to analyze, structure, and underwrite SBA loan requests while maintaining credit quality and regulatory compliance. The role partners with Business Development Officers and other teams to support portfolio growth with sound risk management.

The candidate will prepare credit memorandums, evaluate borrower cash flow and collateral, and present findings to approving bodies, ensuring consistency with SBA guidelines and bank policy.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of SBA underwriting and commercial credit experience.
• Advanced knowledge of SBA SOP, lending programs, and eligibility requirements.
• Experience presenting SBA credit recommendations to approvers and committees.
• Expertise analyzing business financial statements, tax returns, cash flow, and complex credit structures.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite SBA loan opportunities and manage a pipeline independently.
• Structure transactions per SBA SOP and policy; prepare credit memos and approval recommendations.
• Analyze borrowers’ financials, collateral, management, and industry risk to assess repayment capacity.
• Present recommendations to credit approvers and committees; identify mitigants and conditions.
