Job summary

First United Bank seeks a SBA Loan Development Specialist to attract new SBA loan customers through internal referrals from the bank's lending staff and external referrals from business brokers, CPAs, and commercial real estate agents.

You will act as a liaison to educate lenders on SBA programs, assist in qualifying and structuring loan opportunities, and promote the bank's image at community events to develop new business opportunities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field.
Five plus years of small business lending or underwriting, SBA lending preferred.
Ability to communicate SBA program advantages to customers and win lender confidence.
Sales or Marketing experience preferred.
Strong attention to detail.
Good communication, sales, and public relations skills.

Responsibilities

Makes business development calls on existing and potential new clients.
Ability to determine SBA eligibility and help structure the loan request.
Ability to complete a thorough summary of the loan request and help gather information for Underwriting.
Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
Provide education to internal lending staff on SBA programs the bank participates in.
Represents the bank in civic/community functions to enhance its image and develop new business.
Promotes favorable image of the bank in all business activities within the community.
