Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field.
• Preferably five or more years of small‑business lending or underwriting in a bank, with a preference for SBA lending.
• Ability to articulate SBA program advantages to prospective customers and earn lender confidence.
• Sales or marketing experience is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent communication, sales, and public‑relations skills.

Responsibilities

• Makes business development calls on existing and potential new clients.
• Determines SBA eligibility and helps structure the loan request.
• Completes a thorough summary of the loan request and gathers information for Underwriting to enable quick analysis.
• Works independently and is self‑motivated.
• Provides education to internal lending staff on SBA programs the bank participates in.
• Represents the bank at civic and community functions to develop new opportunities.
• Promotes a favorable image of the bank in community activities.
