Executive Recruiter Specializing In Banking, Finance, and Family Office
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and driven SBA Business Development Officer (BDO) to join our team in a fully remote capacity. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business development and credit underwriting, with at least three (3) years of SBA lending experience. This role is focused on sourcing, structuring, and closing SBA 7(a) and 504 loans nationwide, while working closely with internal credit, closing, and servicing teams to ensure a smooth lending process from origination through funding.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source and develop new SBA loan opportunities through a variety of channels, including referral networks, COIs (centers of influence), brokers, and direct outreach.
- Evaluate and structure SBA 7(a) and 504 loan transactions to meet eligibility and credit requirements.
- Conduct preliminary financial analysis to assess borrower qualifications and creditworthiness.
- Collaborate with credit analysts, underwriters, closers, and legal teams to move deals efficiently through the loan process.
- Maintain a deep understanding of SBA SOPs, eligibility requirements, and policy changes.
- Build and manage a robust pipeline of deals and meet or exceed production goals.
- Develop long-term client relationships and act as a trusted advisor to small business owners.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, networking events, and online forums to expand presence and lead generation.
- Maintain detailed records of activity in the company CRM and pipeline management systems.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in SBA lending, with a proven track record of originating and closing SBA 7(a) and/or 504 loans.
- Strong understanding of credit fundamentals, including business and personal financial statement analysis, cash flow, and debt service coverage.
- Deep knowledge of SBA guidelines and the end-to-end loan process.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Self-motivated, organized, and capable of working independently in a remote environment.
- Experience managing and growing a referral network across various industries.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Experience working with franchise, acquisition, or partner buyout loans.
- Established referral sources in industries such as healthcare, hospitality, logistics, or professional services.
