Job summary

Georgia-Pacific LLC is seeking a Log Line Technician for our Lumber facility in Albany, GA. The role includes operating and maintaining the Log Line, following safety guidelines, and supporting maintenance and quality control processes.

The position offers shift-based hours (days/nights) with potential overtime, holidays, and weekend work. Starting pay is $24/hr depending on experience, with opportunities to increase based on skills and contribution to overall performance.

Qualifications

• Two years of sawmill experience.
• Basic mechanical knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to plant safety guidelines and participate in the safety program.
• Own preventative maintenance for the Log Line.
• Input Work Requests into MOE.
• Ensure Log Line checks are completed daily.
• Retool Debarker arms as needed.
• Monitor issues hindering full potential and provide feedback.
• Coordinate with Quality Control to maximize optimizers.
• Maintain housekeeping for the Log Line and MCC rooms.
• Develop value-added improvements to current processes.
• Own AKMS trainer responsibilities for operator trainings.
• Assist operators with start-up, shutdown, and clean-up.
