Job description

Position Description

The duties of this position involve preparing the door package for shipment, ensuring quality and customer satisfaction. The employee will pull and cut designated materials using a two-headed industrial saw according to customer orders, carefully selecting the appropriate color, length, and materials.

Major Areas of Responsibility

1. Maintain safety awareness in all activities; suggest safety improvements; uphold safe work habits.
2. Read and understand job order instructions for each customer order.
3. Pull and stage the correct materials and quantities for orders.
4. Follow work instructions precisely to complete the door package successfully.
5. Read pick sheets, layouts, and process documents for each order.
6. Understand daily production goals and work efficiently to meet or exceed them.
7. Inspect raw materials for damage or defects before staging.
8. Use a two-headed saw to cut aluminum to specified lengths as per customer orders.
9. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

1. Basic math skills, including fractions, for measuring and calculating.
2. Proficiency in operating a two-headed saw for aluminum cutting.
3. Strong attention to detail with fine visual and manual skills.
4. Ability to use basic hand tools like screwdrivers, wrenches, and drills.
5. Capability to work in a fast-paced environment for extended periods.
6. Ability to read and interpret layouts, shop orders, and process control documents.

Education and Experience

1. High school diploma or GED required.
2. Positive attitude and self-motivation.
3. Reliable, disciplined, and able to follow instructions and work well with others.

Physical Demands

Requires talking, hearing, and walking up to 10 hours daily on a concrete floor. Must be able to lift 30+ pounds overhead and at waist level. Continuous physical activity includes lifting aluminum extrusions up to 10 hours daily. Must be able to walk, reach, and have close vision.

Work Environment

Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and vehicles, with loud noise levels typical of manufacturing. The environment is climate-controlled.
