Aerotek in Blaine, MN is hiring for a Saw Operator to run multiple automatic saws, verify lengths with a tape measure, and set up equipment for production. The role includes training to operate a sit-down forklift and moving pipes between outdoor storage and the shop. This is a contract-to-hire, onsite opportunity with a daytime shift.

This role operates multiple automatic saws to cut pipe used in the oil and gas industry, ensuring precise measurements and consistent quality. The position focuses primarily on saw operation, with additional training provided to safely operate a sit-down forklift to move pipe between outdoor storage and the indoor shop.
Operate three automatic saws to cut pipes to specified lengths for machinists and assemblers.
Use a tape measure accurately to verify pipe lengths before and after cutting, following the principle of "measure twice, cut once."
Set up, monitor, and adjust saws and cutting tools to maintain consistent quality and productivity.
Handle and position pipes on the saws and related equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
Perform general labor tasks related to production, including moving, staging, and organizing materials.
Assist with basic mechanical tasks related to saw operation and production support as needed.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area around saws, cutting equipment, and material staging zones.
Follow all safety procedures while working around cutting tools, machinery, and material handling equipment.
After training, operate a sit-down forklift to move pipes from outside storage areas into the building for cutting.
Work both indoors and outdoors as required, including during winter and summer conditions.
Communicate clearly with team members, machinists, and assemblers to ensure correct specifications and priorities are met.
Experience with machine operation or production work in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Ability to use a tape measure accurately to verify material lengths and dimensions.
Comfort working with saws, cutting tools, and other production equipment.
Strong general labor skills, including material handling and basic mechanical aptitude.
Good communication skills to understand instructions and coordinate with team members.
Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and perform physical labor throughout the shift.
Willingness to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Steel-toed boots for safety on the production floor.
Experience as a machine operator, production helper, or in mechanical assembly is beneficial.
Experience with saw operation, cutter machines, or cutting tools is an advantage.
Previous forklift or sit-down forklift experience is helpful, though training will be provided.
Ability to work effectively in a small shop environment with welding and machining operations nearby.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Blaine, MN.
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
