Job summary

Old Wisconsin Sausage is seeking a Bench Hand to support the stuffing department. The role involves handling raw materials, forming and encasing products, and assisting the operator to meet shapes and weights for sale.

Responsibilities include inspecting materials, hanging stuffed products, labeling, cleaning equipment, and reporting any safety or quality issues to QA for immediate action.

Qualifications

• Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
• Basic communication skills to understand work assignments.
• Ability to apply simple, one- or two-step instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in stuffing line and handle raw materials before and after stuffing.
• Inspect raw materials and stuffed product for deficiencies.
• Hang products such as snack sticks, chubs, linked products, and summer sausage.
• Load raw materials into equipment at a suitable rate for stuffing.
• Label or wrap stuffed product prior to smoking.
• Clean stuffing containers and machines.
• Contribute to a safe, quality food product and follow procedures.
• Report food safety and quality issues to supervisor/QA for action.
