Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC seeks a Structural Analysis Engineer to advance spacecraft primary bus and component structures. You will work with System and component FEM models, develop detailed FEMs, and interface with design teams on dynamic loads and test methods substantiating satellite structures.

The role requires a background in spacecraft development, strong engineering judgment, and the ability to balance rigor with practical analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• 4+ years of experience with aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicle structures.
• Vehicle load path definition, development of freebody diagrams and strength analysis (metallic and/or composite structures).
• Analysis of stability critical structures.
• Experience in development of analysis tools and processes.
• Experience with System Finite Element Model (FEM) Management.
• Experience with Femap, Nastran, or Ansys.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis tasks.
• Document stress analysis substantiating engineering drawings and documents.
• Support test execution, analyze results, and document verification of structural requirements.
• Support production and operation activities through analysis of non-conformances, investigating failures, and analyzing improvements.
• Supporting configuration development and trade studies.
• Maintain and report on activity schedule, budget and technical status.
• Support internal/external design reviews, TIMs, PDR/CDR.
