Job summary

Portal Space Systems, based in Bothell, WA, is seeking an Integration Build Engineer to drive satellite integration and integrated testing from design to launch. The role involves developing tooling, build and test processes, and close collaboration with design and analysis teams, including travel for launch-site activities.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years in aerospace hardware, tooling design experience, and strong documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field, or 6 years of relevant experience.
• 4+ years in aerospace, spacecraft, high-reliability hardware, or similar hardware development environment with assembly, integration, testing.
• Experience designing tooling from concept through 3D modeling, fabrication, and implementation.
• Experience writing manufacturing procedures, work instructions, build documentation, configuration control, nonconformance, change control, and traceability.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement tooling to support satellite integration and testing.
• Develop repeatable processes for building and testing.
• Lead quality control and issue resolution of satellite integration.
• Author procedures, specifications, and work instructions.
• Launch Site support for new spacecraft builds.
• Collaborate with design engineering on development testing and DFx.
• Review drawings, analyze test results, and develop test plans with the design team.
• Build and test development articles and qualification assemblies.
