Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC in Redmond, WA, seeks a Hardware Reliability Engineer for Starlink to tackle failure analysis across production and on‑orbit hardware, driving root‑cause actions and design changes to improve reliability.

You will work hands‑on with hardware, collaborating with manufacturing to develop testing strategies and QC processes that sustain high throughput. A BA/BE in engineering and 2+ years in design or manufacturing engineering are required; advanced degrees welcomed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
• 2+ years in a design or manufacturing engineering role (student project team or internship experience qualifies)
• Master’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or materials engineering (preferred)
• Strong teamwork and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with quality tools and analysis methods.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on failure analysis to drive root-cause and corrective action to improve reliability and throughput.
• Develop, validate, and implement production processes for existing and next-gen hardware for consistent quality.
• Create data analysis programs to identify production yield, failure rates, and implement SPC.
• Conduct regular build quality reviews to ensure design intent and reduce risks.
• Collaborate with production to reduce in-process inspections and maintain inspection plans.
• Define Quality Management System requirements around traceability and configuration management.
• Define ongoing reliability testing strategy to monitor process health and long-term defects.
