Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Engineer (Satellites) in Hawthorne, CA. The role supports satellite manufacturing teams by implementing EHS programs and ensuring regulatory compliance across OSHA, NFPA, and NIOSH standards.

You will lead safety reviews, investigations, and hazard assessments while collaborating with engineers and leadership to maintain a safe, efficient work environment and meet project timelines.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in environmental, health and safety disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed safety reviews of hazardous operations with test engineers and technicians.
• Lead or assist in incident investigations including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain compliance with OSHA, NFPA, NIOSH and other regulatory guidelines.
• Collaborate with leadership to complete job hazard assessments and implement EHS policies.
• Develop and maintain safety programs including OSHA standards, hazmat, cryogenics, confined spaces, fall protection, lockout/tagout, and radiation safety.
• Monitor employee exposure to physical and chemical hazards.
• Inspect facilities and equipment to identify hazards and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Develop contingency plans for fires, spills and other emergencies.
