Job summary

Amazon Leo is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the avionics hardware team building critical satellite electronics for flight computers, propulsion control, attitude determination, and solar array deployment.

You will own defined hardware portions, drive designs through verification, and collaborate with systems, firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to deliver reliable hardware from development to production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
• 2+ years of experience developing hardware across the full product lifecycle (concept through production at scale)
• Experience with PCB design and debug, including processors, FPGAs, power supplies, and sensors
• Experience with complex board designs (e.g., high-speed interfaces, power electronics, or high-reliability systems)
• Experience using ECAD tools for schematic capture and PCB layout
• Experience driving hardware through bring-up, validation, and integration

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development of satellite avionics hardware from requirements and concept through production.
• Design and analyze analog, digital, power, and mixed-signal circuits for assigned hardware functions.
• Create and maintain electrical schematics, component selections, simulations, and design documentation.
• Support PCB implementation by defining layout requirements and participating in schematic and layout reviews.
• Develop and execute hardware bring-up, verification, and qualification testing.
• Troubleshoot electrical hardware and perform root-cause analysis across development, integration, and production.
• Support requirements development, interface definition, verification planning, and traceability.
• Collaborate with systems, firmware, mechanical, test, manufacturing, and integration teams.
• Develop test hardware, scripts, or automation to improve verification, characterization, and debugging
