Job summary

Accenture Federal Services is seeking a SAP ABAP Developer to support the SAP HCM and Payroll environment. You will design, build, test, and deploy custom objects, reports, interfaces, and workflows, collaborating with functional and integration teams to ensure alignment with requirements.

The role requires strong ABAP development skills, SAP HCM data structure understanding, and full lifecycle delivery from design through deployment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of SAP ABAP development experience.
• Experience developing custom solutions within SAP HCM and/or Payroll.
• Demonstrated experience building and supporting reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms, workflows, and related custom components.
• Ability to interpret functional specifications and convert them into robust technical designs.
• Strong debugging and problem-resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Review functional design specifications and translate them into detailed technical designs.
• Design, develop, and enhance SAP HCM custom objects using ABAP.
• Develop and support reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms, workflows, and other technical components.
• Collaborate with functional teams to clarify requirements and ensure technical designs align with approved functional specifications.
• Perform technical/unit testing, code validation, and prepare solutions for functional testing.
• Troubleshoot and resolve defects identified during functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
• Provide remediation support through retesting and defect closure cycles.
• Develop and maintain technical design documents, development specifications, and testing artifacts.
• Support transport management, deployment activities, and production readiness efforts.
• Collaborate with integration developers where custom objects connect to SAP or external systems.
• Leverage SAP CPI / SAP Integration Suite where applicable, especially for integration-related custom solutions.
