Job summary

J&J Snack Foods in Bridgeport, NJ, is seeking a SANITOR to provide daily and scheduled sanitation services to Uptown Bakeries safely and efficiently.

You will clean processing equipment, conveyors, tanks, and floors, follow SOPs, and may train to operate forklift or scissor lift in a wet, hot, or cold environment.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize processing equipment, overhead pipes, and conveyors in wet and dry environments.
• Disassemble, clean, and reassemble equipment according to SOP procedures.
• Sweep, mop floors, scrub walls, and maintain restroom areas.
• Follow safety and chemical handling procedures (LOTO) and use cleaning chemicals and tools.
• May be trained to operate forklift and scissor lift as needed.
• Handle heavy lifting and repetitive motions while maintaining pace and accuracy.

POSITION SUMMARY:

To provide daily and scheduled sanitation services to Uptown Bakeries safely and efficiently.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Cleaning, sanitizing, and disassembling -reassemble equipment
• according to SOP procedures.
• Works in a hot and cold environment.
• Cleans processing equipment, overhead pipes, and conveyors in a wet and dry environment.
• Scrubs processing tanks and kettles, conveyors.
• Sweeps and mops floors and scrubs walls.
• Follows SOP sanitation cleaning procedures.
• May be trained to operate forklift and scissor lift.
• Uses cleaning chemicals, water hose, brushes, and air wand.
• Exposed to chemicals.
• Moderate to heavy lifting.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, and move around.
• machinery.
• Repetitively use hands, wrists, and forearms.
• Frequently lifts/moves hoses, equipment, chemical containers, Bakery feed totes.
• Operates a chemical foamer.
• Performs fryer and kettle cleaning, boil outs.
• Pushes totes and carts.
• Cleans the restrooms and breakrooms.
• Removes trash from the plant.
• Fills paper towel and hair net dispensers.
• Keeps the outside of the building and grounds clean, and picks up outside side trash.
• Works in the washroom, cleaning and scrubbing equipment, containers, utensils, mixing bowls, and conveyers.
• Uses the triple sink to clean small wares.
• Uses an air vacuum to pick up water.
• Pushes water on floor using a squeegee.
• Uses the rack washer to wash trays.
• Operates production equipment and conveyors.
• Lifts and dumps heavy containers of dough scrap.
• Comply with all safety requirements including chemical safety and LOTO.
