Job summary

Rise Baking Company in Wisconsin is seeking a sanitation associate to support the sanitation food safety program. The role focuses on proper cleaning and sanitizing of plant equipment and facilities to meet all food safety policies, FDA and OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities include operating wash areas, assisting with disassembly for cleaning, and performing janitorial duties across the facility. Candidates should have a high school diploma and relevant sanitation experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1 year minimum working in a kitchen cleaning or 1 year working in a food plant as a sanitor cleaning equipment/machines.
• Basic knowledge of pre-rinse/wash/rinse/sanitize steps.
• Basic knowledge of top down washing sequence for proper food safety.
• Basic knowledge of sanitation chemical usage.
• Basic knowledge of lockout/tagout programs.
• Basic knowledge of blood borne pathogens.
• Ability to learn how to clean all plant lines.
• Ability to prioritize work.
• Ability to problem-solve.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as a team to complete assigned tasks.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic wash area duties, including running a pan washer, cleaning utensils by hand when needed, etc.
• Perform basic machine disassembly/setup for cleaning (e.g., covers, piping, cover electrical with plastic)
• Perform basic janitorial duties required for the facility (outside grounds, rest rooms, lunch rooms, locker rooms, conference rooms, offices, training rooms, hallways, entry points, and production area)
• Complete cleaning tasks per SSOPs
• Recognize and address equipment needing deep cleaning
• Properly use chemicals to effectively and safely perform cleaning tasks
• Report employee safety, food safety, and quality concerns to appropriate personnel
• Comply with all employee safety/food safety requirements, training, policies, and procedures
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned
