Job summary

Michael Foods, Inc. in Wakefield, NE is seeking a Technician responsible for overall equipment cleanliness and sanitation in the assigned department. This second-shift role requires adherence to safety, food safety, and quality standards while supporting daily operations.

You will follow SOPs, perform master sanitation schedules, and assist with start-up procedures, with weekend overtime as needed to meet project goals.

Qualifications

• Prior manufacturing and/or sanitation experience preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot minor mechanical issues.
• Must obtain and maintain a company pallet jack license. Experience with pallet jack and/or forklift preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and work in varied environments including cold, wet, dusty and humid.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for overall equipment cleanliness and sanitation of department area.
• Accountable for performing daily, weekly and monthly master sanitation schedules.
• Follow daily production start-up procedures.
• Cross-train in sanitation jobs.
• Adhere to safe work practices and GMPs; ensure food safety and quality.
• Report equipment/mechanical problems and participate in team inspections.
