Job summary

City of Clermont is seeking a supervisor to oversee Sanitation Drivers and trucks in assigned areas. The role operates under general supervision and focuses on scheduling, task assignments, and maintaining safe, efficient operations.

This non-exempt position requires five years of sanitation vehicle experience, a Class B CDL with air brake endorsement, and the ability to train staff, maintain records, and respond to emergencies. The City of Clermont is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Five (5) years’ experience operating sanitation vehicles (Side Loaders, Rear Loaders, Recycle and Clam trucks).
• Valid Class B Commercial Florida Driver’s License with air brake endorsement.
• FEMA IS100, IS700 and IS200 within 6 months from date of employment.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and may participate in the work of Sanitation drivers and technicians, including scheduling, assignments, addressing personnel issues, and filling in as a driver as needed.
• May be called upon to fill in for the Sanitation Chief/Manager to oversee the division.
• Maintains efficient records, compiles data, and prepares reports and documentation.
• Ensures safe and efficient operations through pre-trip inspections and safety training.
• Coordinates work with other Foremen and the Operation Chief to ensure task completion and provides customer service support as needed.
