City of Zephyrhills is seeking a Sanitation Worker I to perform waste collection, drive sanitation trucks, and maintain cleanliness of vehicles and sites. The role requires operating the compaction mechanism, reporting issues, and occasional weekend shifts.

The ideal candidate will hold a Florida Class B CDL with air brake endorsement (or obtain within 6 months) and pass background checks, drug testing, and a physical exam. Starting salary is listed with benefits package.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to understand and follow oral/written instructions and work well with the public and co-workers.
• Must be able to lift heavy objects, work on scheduled holidays, and have the ability to use a map to locate addresses.
• Possess and maintain a State of Florida Class B CDL license with air brake endorsement or obtain within six (6) months of hire.

Aufgaben

• Handles, carries, and empties receptacles containing solid waste.
• Sanitation workers deposit waste into a collection vehicle and operate the compaction mechanism.
• Workers report vehicle mechanical problems to the driver, drive sanitation trucks to the transfer station, and ride on the external platform between collection stops.
• Performs maintenance work on the division premises, cleans sanitation vehicles, and identifies hazardous waste products.
• Occasional weekend work, when required.
• Completes other related duties as assigned.
