Job summary

The City of Greenville’s Fleet Services Department seeks a Sanitation Crew Leader I to join a sanitation crew and safely operate heavy equipment for solid waste collection on assigned routes. The role is non-exempt under FLSA.

Primary duties include operating side-loading and rear-loading packer trucks, leading crew members, and performing routine equipment maintenance while abiding by safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 1+ year of experience operating various light to heavy vehicles and equipment, or five years of experience operating such equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate side-loading packer truck on routes.
• Operate rear-loading packer truck in designated area.
• Lead and assist collection crews.
• Clean and inspect equipment after tasks.
• Follow supervisor instructions and safety rules.
