Job summary

City of Alexandria seeks a Sanitary Infrastructure Division Manager to lead planning, management, and improvements to the sanitary sewer system. The role provides strategic and technical leadership for CIP, regulatory compliance, and capital projects, overseeing a team of civil engineers and coordinating with regional partners.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and eight (8) years of progressively responsible engineering experience including civil engineering project management and infrastructure design.
• Three (3) years of supervisory experience and licensure as a Professional Engineer in Virginia.
• Preferred: ten (10) years of engineering experience related to sanitary sewer systems and at least five (5) years of leadership.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in managing sanitary sewer programs and initiatives at the division level.
• Develop and manage the Sanitary Sewer CIP and operating budget.
• Oversee contract administration and ensure alignment with program objectives.
• Coordinate with Project Implementation staff, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
• Represent the City in meetings and community outreach regarding sanitary programs.
