City of Alexandria, Virginia is seeking a Technical Project Manager to lead municipal capital projects from design through construction. You will oversee diverse initiatives including flood mitigation, stormwater, sanitary sewer, roadway, transit, bicycle/pedestrian, and park improvements, coordinating with consultants and city teams.

The role requires a strong Civil Engineering or related background, 8+ years of relevant experience, 3+ years in project management, and licensure such as PE.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Landscape Architecture; eight (8) years of related experience; three (3) years as a project manager; licensure required.
• Experience managing capital infrastructure projects across design and construction phases.
• Strong communication, budget, risk, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsabilidades

• Manage Capital Improvement projects through the Design and Construction phases.
• Deliver capital projects following project management standards to meet goals.
• Oversee construction teams, ensure contract compliance and city expectations.
• Seek stakeholder input, gain consensus, and act in the City’s best interest.
• Steward capital funds through budgets, procurement documents, and contract compliance.
• Coordinate with consultants and design professionals for plans, specs, and estimates.
• Monitor scope, schedule, and budget; mitigate risks and manage variances.
• Maintain technical knowledge of infrastructure design and regulatory requirements.
• Coach and train associate project managers and pursue certifications.
