Job summary

Flour Bakery + Cafe in Boston is seeking exceptional sandwich makers to join our growing team. As a sandwich maker, you’ll prepare sandwiches with speed and accuracy while engaging guests and delivering hospitality in a busy open-kitchen environment.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year in a fast-paced food service setting, are enthusiastic, hardworking, and available 3–4 shifts (20 hours) per week, including a weekend day. We offer training, benefits, and growth opportunities.

• At least 1 year of previous experience in a fast-paced food service environment.
• Must be able to maintain proper grooming and uniform standards.
• Enthusiastic, hardworking with strong guest service skills; team player.

Do you like to eat award winning baked goods and sandwiches? Do you like working on a great team in a wonderful environment? If so, we have the opportunity for you! Flour Bakery + Cafe is looking for exceptional sandwich makers for our growing team! This is a great position for experienced line cooks or prep cooks. As a sandwich maker, you'll prepare sandwiches with speed and accuracy, while engaging with guests and delivering excellent hospitality.

Day-to-day Performance Expectations:

• Follow assembly instructions and recipes accurately and thoroughly to ensure each sandwich is consistently delicious.

Physical Requirements:

• Be prepared to be on your feet all day. This is a physically active role.


• Ability to stand for long periods, walk, sit, push, pull, reach, and lift < 50 lbs. without assistance


• Ability to operate equipment such as ovens, grills, knives and other kitchen equipment and utensils

Work Environment:

• Must be able to work in an environment with loud noises, machinery, and at times, tight spaces.


• Must be able to work around various aromas and fluctuating temperatures (at times, you could be in a freezer and/or hot kitchens, etc.)


• We do our best not to cross-contaminate anything containing gluten. However, there may be gluten in the air at times. We do our best to accommodate any staff allergy requests.

Compensation:

This position has an average starting compensation of $20-$24 per hour (base wage of $15 + $5-9 per hour in pooled tips). The starting pay rate for this position is $15, but the total pay range is $15-$19.86.
