Job summary

Elyria Foundry|Hodge Foundry is seeking a Sand Lab Technician for the 2nd shift (3:00 pm–11:30 pm) in Elyria, Ohio. The role focuses on preparing sand samples, analyzing results, and ensuring sand properties meet quality standards.

Responsibilities include reporting results, calibrating lab equipment, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment in a fast-paced, industrial setting. Prior lab experience and strong reading of dials are preferred.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED preferred.
• 1+ years of lab experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail required.
• Basic math and calculator use.
• Ability to read dials and record readings.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Collect and prepare sand samples and run analysis.
• Report and record test results accurately.
• Test molding and core sand properties to prevent defects.
• Monitor sand transportation systems.
• Calibrate and maintain lab mixers and equipment.
• Operate tow motor and other mobile equipment as needed.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas.
