Job summary

Emerson is seeking a Lab Technician to support quality and manufacturing excellence at the Urick Foundry. You will perform metal and sand testing, prepare certifications and reports, and verify material certifications to ensure processes stay in control.

Shift is 10pm-6am, with collaboration across cross-functional teams. Responsibilities include setting up resonant frequency testing, interpreting drawings and specs, and maintaining lab equipment while contributing to continuous improvement

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to perform laboratory testing and inspection activities in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to interpret specifications, drawings, procedures, and technical documentation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document test results and findings.
• Effective communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work safely and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform metal and sand testing to verify process control and product quality requirements.
• Conduct incoming material testing and verify material certifications against applicable specifications.
• Prepare customer certifications, metallography reports, laboratory reports, and related test documentation.
• Set up and perform resonant frequency testing, including sample evaluation and verification activities.
• Interpret drawings, specifications, diagrams, and work instructions to support quality and inspection decisions.
• Maintain laboratory and testing equipment through routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance activities.
• Ensure laboratory procedures and work instructions remain accurate and aligned with operational requirements while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
