Anthropic is seeking a Sanctions Compliance Lead to manage end-to-end sanctions and export controls programs. You will partner with Legal, Internal Audit, Finance, and product teams to set risk appetite and drive remediation.

The role requires cross-functional leadership across global markets, with direct interaction with regulators and leadership. You will guide policy development, escalation protocols, and reporting on program health to I&C leadership, while mentoring the regulatory compliance

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience leading an economic sanctions program (OFAC, EU, UK).
  • Experience managing disclosures, blocking/reject reports, regulator filings.
  • Experience assessing sanctions risk and remediation ownership.
  • Experience governing restricted-party screening programs.
  • Proven reporting on program health and risk to leadership or board.

Responsibilities

  • Lead sanctions compliance program strategy, policy frameworks, and roadmap.
  • Represent function with senior leadership and cross-functional partners.
  • Oversee sanctions risk across products, channels, and markets; drive remediation.
  • Direct regulator-facing matters and licensing questions with counsel.
  • Govern screening controls, thresholds, escalation, and vendor management.
  • Mentor and develop compliance staff; shape function as it grows.
