Job summary

Anthropic seeks a Sanctions Compliance Lead to own the end‑to‑end sanctions program and support export controls. You will partner with Legal, Audit, Finance, and leadership to set strategy, assess risk, and govern screening and enforcement across global channels.

You will mentor the team, coordinate with Counsel, and report on program health to executives and the Audit Committee. The role requires strong leadership and regulatory insight in a fast‑growing AI environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading an economic sanctions program (OFAC, EU, UK) in a commercial environment.
  • Experience managing voluntary disclosures, blocking/reject reports, and regulator filings end to end.
  • Experience governing a restricted-party screening program, including vendor management.
  • Experience reporting on program health to senior leadership, audit committee, or board.

Responsibilities

  • Lead sanctions compliance program strategy, risk appetite, policy frameworks, and roadmap.
  • Represent sanctions/export controls with senior leadership and cross-functional partners.
  • Continuously assess sanctions risk across products, channels and markets; drive remediations.
  • Direct regulator-facing matters, disclosures, licensing questions, and inquiries.
  • Govern restricted-party screening controls and vendor management with stakeholders.
  • Mentor and develop compliance team members as the function grows.
  • Collaborate with counsel to interpret trade controls and translate to practical guidance.
  • Prepare program health and risk reporting for leadership and governance.
