Anthropic is seeking a Sanctions Compliance Lead to own end‑to‑end sanctions programs, including strategy, risk appetite, and policy governance. You will work with Legal, Audit, and cross‑functional teams to manage regulator interactions and remediation efforts as Anthropic expands into new markets and products.

You will partner with Trade Compliance Counsel and in‑house counsel to interpret requirements, guide product strategy, and ensure enforcement of screening controls while staying

Competenze

• Hands-on experience leading an economic sanctions compliance program (OFAC, EU, UK, etc.)
• Experience managing voluntary self-disclosures and regulator filings
• Experience evaluating sanctions risk and driving remediation
• Experience governing a restricted‑party screening program
• Track record of reporting on program health and risk to leadership or board
• Knowledge of US export controls (EAR/BIS) to oversee programs
• Experience translating trade controls into practical guidance for product/engineering teams
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including policy drafting

• Lead sanctions compliance program strategy, risk appetite, policy frameworks, and roadmap.
• Represent the sanctions and export controls function with senior leadership and cross‑functional partners.
• Assess sanctions risk across products, channels, and markets; own remediation and enhancements.
• Direct regulator-facing matters and supervisor reports, coordinating with counsel.
• Govern restricted-party screening controls, list configuration, thresholds, and escalation.
• Serve as senior escalation point for complex sanctions matters; set disposition standards.
• Advise on sanctions/trade controls implications of expansion, partnerships, and new products.
• Support export controls program oversight in partnership with Compliance Officers.
• Prepare and deliver program health, risk, and issue reporting for leadership and governance bodies.
• Monitor regulatory developments and drive program changes.
• Lead, mentor, and develop compliance team members; grow the function.
